[Related to Aram.-Syr. כַּפָּא (= hollow of the hand, pan, bowl, censer scale of the balance), Ugar. kp (= hollow of the hand, bowl), Ethiop. kappu (= hollow of the hand, scale of a balance), Syr. כֶּפְתָּא (= hollowed place, arch, vault).
