צוֹפֶה m. (b. h. צֹפֶה; צָפָה) watchman, seer, prophet, inspired man. Pl. צוֹפִים, צוֹפִין. Gen. R. s. 1, a. e., v. מַנְצְפַ"ךְ; Y. Meg. I, 71ᵈ מאן אינון אילין צופין who were those inspired ones? Bab. Meg. 14ᵃ (ref. to I Sam. I, 1 רמתים צופים) אחד ממאתים צ׳ וכ׳ one of the two hundred prophets that prophesied in Israel. Gen. R. s. 45 (ref. to Prov.
