BOTH UPON THEE, AND UPON THY PEOPLE. Yefet says that Scripture reads, both upon thee, and upon thy people to hint that the frogs shall affect only Pharaoh and his people but not Israel. However, this is no proof.118I.E. held that the plague of frogs also affected the Israelites. See his comments on verse 24. Since Scripture mentions that the frogs shall go up upon him and upon all of his people,119Thy people means all of Pharaoh’s subjects. It doesn’t refer only to native Egyptians. there was no reason to mention Israel.120Israel is included in thy people.
