About This Text

Author: Yehuda Ashlag
Giving: the Essential Teaching of the Kabbalah is Aryeh Siegel’s English translation of Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag’s Kuntres Matan Torah, a 20th-century collection of short kabbalistic essays on the purpose of Kabbalah and how to cultivate a desire to give to others. The translation includes a commentary by Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Gottlieb that offers insights on how to live a life of Kabbalah. In his introduction, Siegel writes that the work’s intended audience is “any human being with the desire… to work on one’s character, sincerity of intention, and faith.”
