Parashat Chayei Sara
Chayei Sarah (“The Life of Sarah”) opens as Sarah dies and Abraham buys the Cave of Machpelah to bury her. Abraham sends his servant to find a wife for Isaac. The servant meets Rebecca at a well, and Rebecca returns with the servant to marry Isaac. Abraham remarries, has more children, and dies at age 175.פרשת חיי שרה נפתחת במות שרה. אברהם קונה את מערת המכפלה וקובר בה את אשתו. אברהם שולח את עבדו למולדתו חרן למצוא אישה לבנו יצחק. העבד פוגש את רבקה על יד הבאר, והיא מציעה לדלות מים לו ולגמליו. לאחר משא ומתן עם משפחת רבקה העבד מביא את רבקה לארץ כנען, ויצחק לוקח אותה לאישה. אברהם לוקח אישה נוספת, מוליד ילדים ומת בן 175.
