    (טו) וָאֶקַּ֞ח אֶת־רָאשֵׁ֣י שִׁבְטֵיכֶ֗ם אֲנָשִׁ֤ים חֲכָמִים֙ וִֽידֻעִ֔ים וָאֶתֵּ֥ן אֹתָ֛ם רָאשִׁ֖ים עֲלֵיכֶ֑ם שָׂרֵ֨י אֲלָפִ֜ים וְשָׂרֵ֣י מֵא֗וֹת וְשָׂרֵ֤י חֲמִשִּׁים֙ וְשָׂרֵ֣י עֲשָׂרֹ֔ת וְשֹׁטְרִ֖ים לְשִׁבְטֵיכֶֽם׃
    Deuteronomy 1:15
    (15) So I took the heads of your tribes, wise men, and full of knowledge, and made them heads over you, captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, and captains of fifties, and captains of tens, and officers, tribe by tribe.

    answer:

     

    yithro said to moses that there are 7 ways to know if a judge is a good judge:

    1. people who are stadikim and men {can't be a women because they have to much mercy}
    2. hahamim
    3. nabonim {people thatblearn one thing from another thing very smart people like Albert Einstein}
    4. yedouim {people that know things}
    5. have fear of god
    6. truthful people
    7. people who don't take gifts or bribes

     

  3. ראשים עליכם what is the question of rashi?

     

    why were the leaders of bnei israel chosen to be the judges?

     

    answer:

     

    because like the people of Israel respected the leaders they would also respect the judge.

    what are ways that we can respect a judge?

    • they would go in before the judge so when he comes in they can stand and the judge leaves first so the can stand for him and then they leave
    • go to the judge with a random question so he feels like you are coming for his advise and because you think that he is smart
    • etc.
