(26) And Terah lived seventy years, and begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran. (27) Now these are the generations of Terah. Terah begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begot Lot. (28) And Haran died in the presence of his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur Kasdim. (29) And Abram and Nahor took wives: the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Yiskah. (30) And Sarai was barren; she had no child. (31) And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran, his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, Abram’s wife; and they travelled from Ur Kasdim, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came to Charan, and dwelt there. (32) And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years; and Terah died in Haran.
(1) Now the LORD said to Abram: ‘Go for yourself out of your country, and from your birthplace, and from your father’s house, to the land that I will show you. (2) And I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you will be a blessing. (3) And I will bless all who bless you, and one that curses you, I will curse; and in you shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’ (4) So Abram went, as the LORD had spoken to him; and Lot went with him; and Abram was seventy five years old when he departed from Haran.
(7) And the LORD said: ‘I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and creeping thing, and fowl of the air; for I regret having made them.’ (8) But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
(9) These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous and wholesome man in his generation; Noah walked with God.
(6) For you are a holy people unto the LORD your G-d: the LORD your G-d has chosen you to be a special people from all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.
