(15) And God said unto Abraham: ‘As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. (16) And I will bless her, and moreover I will give thee a son of her; yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be of her.’

The letter “Yud” signifies the masculine, while the “Hey” signifies the feminine. Sarah gains the femininity of the “Hey”, as if to say that she will now be given the ability to have children. To avoid the Torah losing half the value it previously had, the extra five was given to Avraham. The “Hey” signifies fertility…which is also reason for the two “Hey”s in Bilhaah (Rachel’s maidservant). Therefore Avraham and Sarah both received a “Hey”, and Avraham received the “Hey” from Sarah because it was in the merit of Sarah that they were able to have children. As it says, “I will also build you up through her”. In the merit of giving her maidservant to her husband, so it was her merit that allowed Avraham to have an heir
She filled the role of Sarah. Because as long as Sarah was alive there was constantly a candle lit in the home from Friday to Friday, a blessing in their dough and a cloud protecting their tent. When she passed away they all left, and when Rebecca entered they all returned.
