Prostitute

(21) He inquired of the people of that town, “Where is the cult prostitute, the one at Enaim, by the road?” But they said, “There has been no prostitute here.”

(22) So he returned to Judah and said, “I could not find her; moreover, the townspeople said: There has been no prostitute here.”

In this story there is a female character, named Tamar. In the beginning, her husband dies because he was evil. Back then the women need to have a child with someone from the family that she married it was a tradition. So she was going to have one with her brother-in-law but he died and the father said no because he still had one son that was around 5ish and she didn't want to wait. So she went back to her family. Years went by. She heard that her father-in-Law was in her hometown pretended to be a prostitute so she could have sex with her father-in-law so she could have a child with someone in that family but she had him give her some items and after that and he did so. Later that week he went back to the town andHe inquired of the people of that town, “Where is the cult prostitute, the one at Enaim, by the road?” But they said, “There has been no prostitute here.”' After that, he found out that the prostitute was her and he ordered he to be burned.

In this source prostitution is a very bad thing such as he ordered for her to be burned.

(18) No Israelite woman shall be a cult prostitute, nor shall any Israelite man be a cult prostitute.

This text is about when God was talking to the Israelites (through Moses) about on how God walks through the camp and he doesn't want to see anything that they don't want God to see. The text "No Israelite woman shall be a cult prostitute, nor shall any Israelite man be a cult prostitute."

(1) Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim, saying, “Go, reconnoiter the region of Jericho.” So they set out, and they came to the house of a harlot named Rahab and lodged there.
(9) She said to the men, “I know that the LORD has given the country to you, because dread of you has fallen upon us, and all the inhabitants of the land are quaking before you.
(12) Now, since I have shown loyalty to you, swear to me by the LORD that you in turn will show loyalty to my family. Provide me with a reliable sign
(16) She said to them, “Make for the hills, so that the pursuers may not come upon you. Stay there in hiding three days, until the pursuers return; then go your way.”

These texts are about when the Israelites are entering the promise land and they are sending spies into see and the spies are about to be caught so a harlot (prostitute) helps them hide because they are going caught. She has them hide near by once the coast is clear she helps them get back to the other side of the Jordan river. But durning this story she is very intelligent and has a very out smarting plan that works almost too well.

(25) You built your mound at every crossroad; and you sullied your beauty and spread your legs to every passerby, and you multiplied your harlotries.

(44) And they would go to her as one goes to a prostitute; that is how they went to Oholah and Oholibah, wanton women.
(31) building your eminence at every crossroad and setting your mound in every square! Yet you were not like a prostitute, for you spurned fees;
(33) Gifts are made to all prostitutes, but you made gifts to all your lovers, and bribed them to come to you from every quarter for your harlotries.
