Action First?
(ג) וַיָּבֹא מֹשֶׁה וַיְסַפֵּר לָעָם אֵת כָּל דִּבְרֵי יי וְאֵת כָּל הַמִּשְׁפָּטִים וַיַּעַן כָּל הָעָם קוֹל אֶחָד וַיֹּאמְרוּ כָּל הַדְּבָרִים אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יי נַעֲשֶׂה.
(3) And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said: ‘All the words which the Lord hath spoken will we do.’

Do you think their response is a little quick?

(ז) וַיִּקַּח סֵפֶר הַבְּרִית וַיִּקְרָא בְּאָזְנֵי הָעָם וַיֹּאמְרוּ כֹּל אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יי נַעֲשֶׂה וְנִשְׁמָע.

(7) And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the hearing of the people; and they said: ‘All that the LORD hath spoken will we do, and obey/hear.’

Moses read the Torah to the people, so why do you think they said they will hear only after saying they will do?

(ב) נעשה ונשמע - נעשה מה שדיבר וגם נשמע מה שיצונו עוד מכאן ולהבא ונקיים.

(2) We will do and We will obey - We will do what is spoken, and also obey that which is commanded later.

What does this imply is intended by "We will do and We will obey"? How would this apply to our everyday life?

(3) And that is [the meaning of] Israel’s saying we will do and we will listen (Ex. 24:7), which is to say we will do the Service and exert [ourselves]; and afterward we will come to the world of pleasure such that it will be considered Service...
