אָמַר לָהֶם, צְאוּ וּרְאוּ אֵיזוֹהִי דֶרֶךְ יְשָׁרָה שֶׁיִּדְבַּק בָּהּ הָאָדָם. רַבִּי אֱלִיעֶזֶר אוֹמֵר, עַיִן טוֹבָה. רַבִּי יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אוֹמֵר, חָבֵר טוֹב. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר, שָׁכֵן טוֹב. רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן אוֹמֵר, הָרוֹאֶה אֶת הַנּוֹלָד. רַבִּי אֶלְעָזָר אוֹמֵר, לֵב טוֹב. אָמַר לָהֶם, רוֹאֶה אֲנִי אֶת דִּבְרֵי אֶלְעָזָר בֶּן עֲרָךְ מִדִּבְרֵיכֶם, שֶׁבִּכְלָל דְּבָרָיו דִּבְרֵיכֶם...
He [Rabban Yohanan] said unto them: go forth and observe which is the right way to which a man should cleave? Rabbi Eliezer said, a good eye; Rabbi Joshua said, a good companion; Rabbi Yose said, a good neighbor; Rabbi Shimon said, foresight. Rabbi Elazar said, a good heart. He [Rabban Yohanan] said to them: I prefer the words of Elazar ben Arach, for in his words your words are included...
...והנה ימי הספירה הם מ"ט ימים מנין לב טוב הנלמד על הטוב הכללי מן תיבת בראשית עד וירא אלקים כי טוב... ומעתה הקורא נעים תנה לבך הטוב ותראה רמיזת לב בתורה (כמש"ל) הוא רק בחשבון ל"ב תיבות מן בראשית עד תיבת טוב. כי בראשית התורה הקדומה רשומה חכמתך הסתומה (ל"ב נתיבות חכמה) מאין תמצא והיא נעלמה ע"כ נרמז הלב רק בחשבון התיבות מן בראשית (חכמה) ל"ב תיבין עד תיבת טוב (רמז ל"ב נתיבותי' הנעלמי' אוריית' מחכמה נפקת) ותיבת טוב היא בפירוש בתורה מזה נשמע בהגיע עתותינו עת דודים במצות ספירתנו להכנעת לב טוב לקבלת התורה...

לא טוב היות האדם לבדו...וטעם "לא טוב" שלא יאמר בו כי טוב בהיותו לבדו שלא יתקיים כן במעשה בראשית ה"טוב" הוא הקיום כאשר פירשתי במאמר "וירא אלקים כי טוב" (רמב"ן על בראשית א׳:ד׳):
IT IS NOT GOOD THAT THE MAN SHOULD BE ALONE...The meaning of the expression, it is not good, is that it cannot be said of man that “it is good” when he is alone for he will not be able to so exist. In the work of creation, “the good” means continued existence, as I have explained on the text, And G-d saw that it was good.
His steadfast love is eternal.
כָּל מַה שֶּׁבָּרָא הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא בְּעוֹלָמוֹ, לֹא בְרָאוֹ אֶלָּא לִכְבוֹדוֹ, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (ישעיה מג), כֹּל הַנִּקְרָא בִשְׁמִי וְלִכְבוֹדִי בְּרָאתִיו יְצַרְתִּיו אַף עֲשִׂיתִיו, וְאוֹמֵר (שמות טו), ה' יִמְלֹךְ לְעֹלָם וָעֶד.
Whatever the Holy Blessed One created in His world, he created only for His honor, as it is said: “All who are linked to My name, whom I have created, formed and made for My honor” (Isaiah 43:7), And it says: “The Lord shall reign for ever and ever” (Exodus 15:18).
הַמֵּאִיר לָאָֽרֶץ וְלַדָּרִים עָלֶֽיהָ...אֵל בָּרוּךְ גְּדוֹל דֵּעָה הֵכִין וּפָעַל זָהֳרֵי חַמָּה: טוֹב יָצַר כָּבוֹד לִשְׁמוֹ מְאוֹרוֹת נָתַן סְבִיבוֹת עֻזּוֹ...
He illuminates the earth [and provides light] for those who dwell on it... He created Good, glory for His Name: the luminaries He set around His strength (His throne)...
