Vayetze: And I think to myself what a wonderful world..... pt.1

(10) And Yacob went out from Be'er-sheva, and went toward Haran.

Why does the verse say ''Vayetzei - and he exited'' instead of the standard ''Vayelech - and he went''?

From Be'er Sheva - From the yoke of the oath. He(Ya'akov) said(to himself) (I shall leave) so that Avimelech wont force me to enter into a covenant with him as he did with my Grandfather did. Which will push away the happiness of my children by seven generations.

There were seven generations between Avraham and moshe

There were seven generations between Yitzchak and Yehoshua

Why weren't Avraham and Yitzchak concerned with entering the covenant with Avimelech?

And if they weren't concerned why was Ya'akov concerned?

Regarding Avraham it is stated And Yishmael etc. "emerged-came out" from him.

Concerning Yitschak it is stated Eisav etc. "emerged-came out" from him

However regarding Ya'akov it is stated his bed is complete.

Question: Why weren't Avraham and yitschak successful in reaching all of their children while Ya'kov was?

(5) And he commanded them, saying: ‘so you shall say unto my lord Esau: so said your servant Ya'akov: I have sojourned with Laban, and stayed until now.

Garti גרתי is numerically equivalent to תרי"ג-613. In other words, I lived with the evil Lavan and kept the 613 mitsvot. And I didn't learn from his wicked ways.

Hit'hapacha:

It wasn't the shevua that held Bnei Yisrael out of Eretz Yisrael.

Rather the fact the evil was still rampant and the lack of readiness of the world

held us back from entering eretz Yisrael.

Cold Dark and Clammy Sure... but the Opportunity!!!!

There’s a story about a man who was lowered down a deep shaft, lower and lower, until the darkness was so dark he could touch it with his fingers, the damp cold so damp and cold it seeped through his bones and made them shiver.

Finally, without warning, he hit the hard rock bottom.

When they pulled him back up, they asked, “So what did you find down there?”

“It was cold,” he answered.

“What else?”

“It was dark,” he answered.

“What else?”

“What else do you want?” he answered. “I hit rock bottom and it was cold, dark and full of dirt!”

“We know it’s full of dirt!” they responded. “It’s a mine! Now, where are the diamonds?”
