Pesach- Freedom

We were slaves to Pharaoh in the land of Egypt...

Why do we start the Seder by telling to story of the Exodus this way?

In each and every generation, a person is required to see himself as if he left Egypt...

Why are we required to see ourselves as if we personally left Egypt?

What does it mean to see ourselves this way?

“The truth is that at all times there is Mitzrayim-Egypt constriction, for every person in Israel. That is why we mention the Exodus, liberation from Mitzrayim, every day. The redemption from Mitzrayim is a freeing from the “narrow places,” the meitzarim, the straits of the soul, into an expansiveness in which all potential is realized.”
