ולא יפחתו לו מארבע כוסות של יין ואפילו מן התמחוי:
[The communal Tzedakah administrators] must give a person at least four cups of wine [for Passover], even [if he is so poor that he eats regularly] from the local soup kitchen.
הא דרב הונא דרי מרא אכתפיה אתא רב חנא בר חנילאי וקא דרי מיניה א"ל אי רגילת דדרית במאתיך דרי ואי לא אתייקורי אנא בזילותא דידך לא ניחא לי
R. Huna was one carrying a hoe on his shoulder. Wen R. Hana bar Hanilai came over and wished to relieve him of it, R. Huna said: If you are accustomed to carry such gear in your own town, carry it. But if not, I refuse to be deferred to through abasement of your person.
תני תנא קמיה דרב נחמן בר יצחק כל המלבין פני חבירו ברבים כאילו שופך דמים א"ל שפיר קא אמרת דחזינא ליה דאזיל סומקא ואתי חוורא
A tanna recited before R. Nahman bar Isaac: He who shames his fellow man in public is as though he shed blood. R. Nahman replied: Well put! Because we see ruddiness depart and paleness take its place.
