After the final blessing, sip the wine and then extinguish the candle in the remaining wine.

The six days of work are also the six days of creation. We enter into our work with the intention to co-create as partners with God. As an invocation of our power to create, we use symbols of the "three mother letters" of Sefer Yetzirah. The cup of wine represents mother Mem and the power to create something from nothing. The flame represents mother Shin and the power to destroy and transform, to create something from something. The spices represent mother Alef, the power to bring creation and destruction into balance for good.

There are two sgulot or "charms" that are customarily done with the leftover wine once the candle has been extinguished in it. For clear sight, take the wine on your pinkies and stroke it over your eyebrows. For a prosperous week, dip your pinkies in the wine and then stick them in your pockets or touch your wallet or tools of trade.
