(20) And Michal Saul’s daughter loved David; and they told Saul, and the thing pleased him. (21) And Saul said: ‘I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him.’ Wherefore Saul said to David: ‘Thou shalt this day be my son-in-law through the one of the two.’ (22) And Saul commanded his servants: ‘Speak with David secretly, and say: Behold, the king is pleased with you, and all his servants love you now therefore be the king’s son-in-law.’ (23) And Saul’s servants spoke those words in the ears of David. And David said: ‘Do you think it is an easy thing to be the king’s son-in-law, seeing that I am a poor man, and not of high stature ?’ (24) And the servants of Saul told him, saying: ‘On this manner spoke David.’ (25) And Saul said: ‘Thus shall you say to David: The king only wants a dowry of one hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king’s enemies.’ For Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines. (26) And when his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to be the king’s son-in-law. And the days were not expired; (27) and David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full number to the king, that he might be the king’s son-in-law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter as a wife.

(11) And Saul sent messengers unto David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning; and Michal David’s wife told him, saying: ‘If you don't save your life to-night, to-morrow you will be killed.’ (12) So Michal let David down through the window; and he went, and fled, and escaped. (13) And Michal took the teraphim (house-hold idols), and laid it in the bed, and put a quilt of goats’hair at the head and covered it with a cloth. (14) And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said: ‘He is sick.’ (15) And Saul sent the messengers to see David, saying: ‘Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.’ (16) And when the messengers came in, behold, the teraphim was in the bed, with the quilt of goats’hair at the head . (17) And Saul said unto Michal: ‘Why have you deceived me thus, and let my enemy go and let him escape?’ And Michal answered Saul: ‘He said unto me: Let me go or I will kill you?’

(14) And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was wearing a linen skirt (15) So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the horn. (16) And it was so, as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart. (17) And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before the LORD. (18) And when David had made an end of offering the burnt-offering and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts. (19) And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to every one a cake of bread, and a cake made in a pan, and a sweet cake. So all the people departed every one to his house. (20) Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said: ‘How did the king of Israel have honour to-day, who uncovered himself to-day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain people who shamelessly uncover themself! ’ (21) And David said unto Michal: ‘Before the LORD, who chose me above your father, and above all his house, to appoint me prince over the people of the LORD, over Israel, before the LORD will I make merry. (22) And I will be yet more despicable than this, and will act lowly; and with the handmaids who you spoke about, with them will I get me honour.’

(8) But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she bore to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite;

"the sons of Michal the daughter of Saul that were born to Adiriel." It was not Michal that gave birth to them, rather Meirav [her older sister] gave birth to them and Michal raised them. Because of this, they were called by her [Michal's] name.
