תלמוד בבלי , בבא מציעא קיב : א
כל הכובש שכר שכיר כאילו נוטל נפשו ממנו
Whoever withholds an employee’s wages, it is as though he has taken the person’s life from her. [Translation by Hillel. Edited for gender neutrality]
