Kesef Mishneh, Laws of Murder 1:14
One must put oneself in possible jeopardy in order to save someone whose life is in certain danger [because], “something doubtful cannot outweigh something that is certain.”

Suggested Discussion Questions:

1. How do you define saving someone’s life?

2. Why do you think the text does not specify if you know the person or not?

3. How much risk should you put yourself in to save someone else and under what circumstances?
