Mishnah Berurah 671:6
ואם יש לו שמן בצמצום על כל השמנה ימים ולחבירו אין לו כלום מוטב שידליק בכל לילה אחד ויתן גם לחבירו.
If one has just enough oil for all eight days [of Chanukah] and one's friend has none, it is better that each night one light one candle and give the oil to one's friend. [AJWS translation]
