והוי מקבל את כל האדם בסבר פנים יפות כיצד מלמד שאם נתן אדם לחברו כל מתנות טובות שבעולם ופניו כבושים בארץ מעלה עליו הכתוב כאלו לא נתן לו כלום. אבל המקבל את חבירו בסבר פנים יפות אפילו לא נתן לו כלום מעלה עליו הכתוב כאלו נתן לו כל מתנות טובות שבעולם:
If one gives their fellow all the good gifts of the world but does so with a grumpy demeanor, the Bible regards it as if they had given nothing. But if one receives one's fellow cheerfully and kindly, the Bible regards it as if one had given that person all the good gifts in the world. [Translation by Areyvut. Edited for gender neutrality]
