Another explanation of “The poor with you”: It is written “For God is Judge; God puts down one and lifts up another” (Psalms 75:8). This world can be compared to an ever-rotating wheel, and one who is rich today may not be so tomorrow, and also one who is poor today may not be so tomorrow. [Soncino translation.
