ספורנו ברְֵאשִׁית יב:ב
והיה ברכה. ברכת ה' היא שישמח ה' במעשיו, כמו שאמרו רזכרונם לברכה "ישמעאל בני ברכני. אמרתי לו יהי רצון מלפניך... ויגלו רחמיך על מדותיך" (ברכות ז א). אמר אם כן היה לי ברכה במה שתתבונן ותקנה שלמות, ותלמד דעת את העם:
"And you shall be a blessing." The Blessing for the Eternal that the Eternal will rejoice in God's acts, just as the Rabbis, may their memories be for a blessing, said: "Yishmael my son bless me. I said to God may it be Your will before You...that your Mercy overcome your attributes" (Talmud Brachot 7aT). God said if so it will be for Me a blessing. How? That you will understand and acquire completeness, and the study of knowledge with the people.
