1 א

אַף־לְ֭זֹאת יֶחֱרַ֣ד לִבִּ֑י וְ֝יִתַּ֗ר מִמְּקוֹמֽוֹ׃

Because of this, too, my heart quakes, And leaps from its place.

2 ב

שִׁמְע֤וּ שָׁמ֣וֹעַ בְּרֹ֣גֶז קֹל֑וֹ וְ֝הֶ֗גֶה מִפִּ֥יו יֵצֵֽא׃

Just listen to the noise of His rumbling, To the sound that comes out of His mouth.

3 ג

תַּֽחַת־כָּל־הַשָּׁמַ֥יִם יִשְׁרֵ֑הוּ וְ֝אוֹר֗וֹ עַל־כַּנְפ֥וֹת הָאָֽרֶץ׃

He lets it loose beneath the entire heavens— His lightning, to the ends of the earth.

4 ד

אַחֲרָ֤יו ׀ יִשְׁאַג־ק֗וֹל יַ֭רְעֵם בְּק֣וֹל גְּאוֹנ֑וֹ וְלֹ֥א יְ֝עַקְּבֵ֗ם כִּֽי־יִשָּׁמַ֥ע קוֹלֽוֹ׃

After it, He lets out a roar; He thunders in His majestic voice. No one can find a trace of it by the time His voice is heard.

5 ה

יַרְעֵ֤ם אֵ֣ל בְּ֭קוֹלוֹ נִפְלָא֑וֹת עֹשֶׂ֥ה גְ֝דֹל֗וֹת וְלֹ֣א נֵדָֽע׃

God thunders marvelously with His voice; He works wonders that we cannot understand.

6 ו

כִּ֤י לַשֶּׁ֨לַג ׀ יֹאמַ֗ר הֱוֵ֫א אָ֥רֶץ וְגֶ֥שֶׁם מָטָ֑ר וְ֝גֶ֗שֶׁם מִטְר֥וֹת עֻזּֽוֹ׃

He commands the snow, “Fall to the ground!” And the downpour of rain, His mighty downpour of rain,

7 ז

בְּיַד־כָּל־אָדָ֥ם יַחְתּ֑וֹם לָ֝דַ֗עַת כָּל־אַנְשֵׁ֥י מַעֲשֵֽׂהוּ׃

Is as a sign on every man’s hand, That all men may know His doings.

8 ח

וַתָּבֹ֣א חַיָּ֣ה בְמוֹ־אָ֑רֶב וּבִמְע֖וֹנֹתֶ֣יהָ תִשְׁכֹּֽן׃

Then the beast enters its lair, And remains in its den.

9 ט

מִן־הַ֭חֶדֶר תָּב֣וֹא סוּפָ֑ה וּֽמִמְּזָרִ֥ים קָרָֽה׃

The storm wind comes from its chamber, And the cold from the constellations.

10 י

מִנִּשְׁמַת־אֵ֥ל יִתֶּן־קָ֑רַח וְרֹ֖חַב מַ֣יִם בְּמוּצָֽק׃

By the breath of God ice is formed, And the expanse of water becomes solid.

11 יא

אַף־בְּ֭רִי יַטְרִ֣יחַ עָ֑ב יָ֝פִ֗יץ עֲנַ֣ן אוֹרֽוֹ׃

He also loads the clouds with moisture And scatters His lightning-clouds.

12 יב

וְה֤וּא מְסִבּ֨וֹת ׀ מִתְהַפֵּ֣ךְ בתחבולתו [בְּתַחְבּוּלֹתָ֣יו] לְפָעֳלָ֑ם כֹּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְצַוֵּ֓ם ׀ עַל־פְּנֵ֖י תֵבֵ֣ל אָֽרְצָה׃

He keeps turning events by His stratagems, That they might accomplish all that He commands them Throughout the inhabited earth,

13 יג

אִם־לְשֵׁ֥בֶט אִם־לְאַרְצ֑וֹ אִם־לְ֝חֶ֗סֶד יַמְצִאֵֽהוּ׃

Causing each of them to happen to His land, Whether as a scourge or as a blessing.

14 יד

הַאֲזִ֣ינָה זֹּ֣את אִיּ֑וֹב עֲ֝מֹ֗ד וְהִתְבּוֹנֵ֤ן ׀ נִפְלְא֬וֹת אֵֽל׃

Give ear to this, Job; Stop to consider the marvels of God.

15 טו

הֲ֭תֵדַע בְּשׂוּם־אֱל֣וֹהַּ עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם וְ֝הוֹפִ֗יעַ א֣וֹר עֲנָנֽוֹ׃

Do you know what charge God lays upon them When His lightning-clouds shine?

16 טז

הֲ֭תֵדַע עַל־מִפְלְשֵׂי־עָ֑ב מִ֝פְלְא֗וֹת תְּמִ֣ים דֵּעִֽים׃

Do you know the marvels worked upon the expanse of clouds By Him whose understanding is perfect,

17 יז

אֲשֶׁר־בְּגָדֶ֥יךָ חַמִּ֑ים בְּהַשְׁקִ֥ט אֶ֝֗רֶץ מִדָּרֽוֹם׃

Why your clothes become hot When the land is becalmed by the south wind?

18 יח

תַּרְקִ֣יעַ עִ֭מּוֹ לִשְׁחָקִ֑ים חֲ֝זָקִ֗ים כִּרְאִ֥י מוּצָֽק׃

Can you help him stretch out the heavens, Firm as a mirror of cast metal?

19 יט

ה֭וֹדִיעֵנוּ מַה־נֹּ֣אמַר ל֑וֹ לֹ֥א־נַ֝עֲרֹ֗ךְ מִפְּנֵי־חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃

Inform us, then, what we may say to Him; We cannot argue because [we are in] darkness.

20 כ

הַֽיְסֻפַּר־ל֭וֹ כִּ֣י אֲדַבֵּ֑ר אִֽם־אָ֥מַר אִ֝֗ישׁ כִּ֣י יְבֻלָּֽע׃

Is anything conveyed to Him when I speak? Can a man say anything when he is confused?

21 כא

וְעַתָּ֤ה ׀ לֹ֘א רָ֤אוּ א֗וֹר בָּהִ֣יר ה֭וּא בַּשְּׁחָקִ֑ים וְר֥וּחַ עָ֝בְרָ֗ה וַֽתְּטַהֲרֵֽם׃

Now, then, one cannot see the sun, Though it be bright in the heavens, Until the wind comes and clears them [of clouds].

22 כב

מִ֭צָּפוֹן זָהָ֣ב יֶֽאֱתֶ֑ה עַל־אֱ֝ל֗וֹהַּ נ֣וֹרָא הֽוֹד׃

By the north wind the golden rays emerge; The splendor about God is awesome.

23 כג

שַׁדַּ֣י לֹֽא־מְ֭צָאנֻהוּ שַׂגִּיא־כֹ֑חַ וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט וְרֹב־צְ֝דָקָ֗ה לֹ֣א יְעַנֶּֽה׃

Shaddai—we cannot attain to Him; He is great in power and justice And abundant in righteousness; He does not torment.

24 כד

לָ֭כֵן יְרֵא֣וּהוּ אֲנָשִׁ֑ים לֹֽא־יִ֝רְאֶ֗ה כָּל־חַכְמֵי־לֵֽב׃ (פ)

Therefore, men are in awe of Him Whom none of the wise can perceive.
